Frequently Asked Questions
How do we contact you?
Either use the contact form on this website, or email me at mazzerphotographics@outlook.com
Where are you located?
I'm located within the beautiful Northern Rivers NSW region.
Do you travel?
I sure do! If I am traveling long distances by car it's $49 per hour. If you would like me for a wedding interstate or overseas, all I ask is for you to pay for return flights and accommodation.
Booking your date
I require a 30% non-refundable deposit to secure your wedding date. This amount is not refundable in the event of cancellation. Your wedding date will not be 100% secured until deposit is paid and the contract is signed.
When do I pay the rest of the amount?
The remaining cost is required 4 weeks before your wedding date. You are also more than welcome to pay partial payments as your date gets closer.
Are you qualified?
I have completed a Diploma in Photography at The Photography Institute in 2012 and a Bachelor of Media and Design at Southern Cross University in 2015. I love to learn and am consistently investing in education to grow my photography skills and business.
What equipment do you own?
1 x Canon R5, 1 x Canon 5D Mark III, Sigma 35mm 1.4, Canon 24-105mm 1.4, Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro, Sigma 50mm 1.4, Tamron 70-200mm 2.8, Canon 430EX III speedlite, 27’’ iMac and the newest Photoshop and Lightroom software. I always have my Canon R5 and 5D Mark III on hand at all weddings.
Do you have a backup camera?
I always photograph with two cameras to ensure that I do not miss a moment when changing lenses and that I have a backup on me at all times.
Can we meet you before we book you?
Absolutely! Lets grab a coffee and discuss any ideas or questions you might have. If you're too busy or do not live near by, we can also arrange a Skype or phone call.
Do you use a second shooter?
I usually shoot solo but am more than happy to arrange a second shooter for an additional fee.
When should we have the wedding meeting?
Usually this is a month or so before your date. The wedding meeting is important so I know where I need to be and when, what I need to do, what you’re expecting and the time-line of the day. Alternatively, I can also send you a questionnaire that you can fill out and send back via email if this suits better.
How long should we allow for bridal party photos?
Ideally I would like an hour to two hours with your bridal party (not including travel or group photographs). This allows for a variety of photos and for everyone to become comfortable in front of the camera. But most importantly will allow enough time to relax and have heaps of fun (and to crack open a bottle of champaine and eat some yummy snacks in-between)!
How long should we allow for family photos?
Half an hour maximum is typically enough time to complete the group photos (depending on the amount of guests). For larger families, more time may be required. After the ceremony is the ideal to do this, as everyone is there and ready to go.
How long will it take for me to receive the images?
You can expect your photos back within 8-12 weeks to ensure you receive the best quality photos from your wedding day.
It is the day of my wedding and I have decided I need a longer session, what do I do?
I try to be as flexible as possible. Just let me know on the day and we will work something out.
I don’t know how to pose? I feel awkward when I get my picture taken!
For a large part of the day, I shoot mostly candid moments letting the day flow naturally which also helps take the pressure off. For the bridal portraits, I definitely give easy directions to follow whilst still keeping your expressions natural. Interact with each other - laugh, hug and kiss!
Can we give you a shot list for the day?
You sure can. Let me know if there are any particular shots you want me to take. I strongly suggest to all my couples that they provide me with a group shot list and a friend/family member who can help get everyone together. This helps to make sure we minimise missing any particular group combinations.
What happens if Mikaela is sick?
I have never missed a wedding due to sickness or any other reason. If the chance cancellation occurs, I will find a photographer of consistent style and experience to cover for me. This choice will be approved by you and I will make the transition as easy as possible.
Should we provide a meal at reception for Mikaela?
If I am shooting for 5+ hours I kindly ask that a short time during preperation is provided to have lunch and that a meal is provided at the reception.
Are the images we receive edited?
They are all edited to fit within my style and brand. I like my images to appear natural and represent the day as it was. All images delivered are individually edited to correct colours, adjust exposures, added saturation and vibrancy to make the images pop. All images are supplied in colour and black and white.
Can I edit the images myself?
The images represent me as a brand, and having anyone else edit them takes away from that. If you have any additional editing requirements, please let me know and I will be more than happy to help.
How do I receive the finished images?
The finished images will be sent to you digitally in high-resolution on a USB. Your USB will be sent to you via mail in a beautiful wooden custom-made box.
Can we get an album?
Absolutely! A standard album is available complimentary with the Premium Bundle Package and 10 hour Wedding Package. If you're package does not include this, price lists for albums are available upon request.
What about printing?
I am more than happy to organize printing for you. Just let me know what you are after. Alternatively, you are welcome to print yourself, as much as your heart desires. Go nuts!
